Laguna Madre
Rooted in the South Texas coast, shaped by years of quiet attention.
One of the largest hypersaline lagoons in the world, the Laguna Madre supports a remarkably diverse ecosystem and serves as a vital stopover for migratory birds. It’s a place of contradiction and harmony, where extremes create balance and beauty emerges from constant movement.
The paintings in this collection—both earlier works and new pieces created after a 2024 residency on a spoil island—reflect an evolving relationship with this landscape.
Visit my Residency Page to learn more about that experience immersed in this rich coastal environment. A virtual exhibition and new artwork from this collection will be available soon.
